Your Face Mask for Problematic and Oily Skin Is Here!

BY Ing. Žaneta Milošová (Havírová)

Do you have oily skin, clogged pores or struggle with acne? Then this mask is exactly for you! 🌿 Natural, effective and super easy to make. Plus, you can prep it ahead and use it whenever. An inexpensive luxury your skin will totally thank you for!

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of green clay – absorbs oil and impurities

  • 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar – antibacterial 🦠, balances pH ⚖️ and firms skin

  • 1–2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel or water – moisturizes and soothes irritation🌸

GG tip: If you don’t have time for a more complicated mask, clay alone is totally enough! 🙌 It’s no biggie – just mix it with a little water and boom you’ve got a quick, effective, and even cheaper option 💸😌. You can try pink or blue clay – it’s fun and makes your skin glow.

I usually do my mask in the bath 🛁 so I don’t make a mess, but do whatever works for you! As it dries, it tightens the skin nicely – major bonus!

If you’re into long, chill baths, you can even rinse the clay straight into the water – gives your whole body some love too 💕. After that, just rinse with clean water and while your skin is still damp, apply your fave oil 🌿. I use apricot with hemp and a few drops of lavender 💛🌱 – but everyone’s got their go-to.

✨Add essential oils like tea tree, lavender or rosemary – they’ve got amazing benefits for oily skin too.

🧪 Instructions:

  • In a bowl, mix clay, apple cider vinegar and aloe vera gel or water until a smooth paste is formed.

  • Transfer the mixture into a clean container (a small glass jar ~100 ml is perfect).

  • The mask is ready! Just stir it before use.

🧖‍♀️ How to use:

  • Apply a thin layer (~1 mm) on cleansed skin (e.g. using a peeling), avoiding the eyes and lips.

  • Leave on for 10–15 minutes ⏱️ until dry.

  • Rinse with warm water and gently pat dry with a towel.

  • Follow up with your fave toner and moisturiser.

💁‍♀️ Who the mask is for:

  • Oily skin: Say goodbye to shine and excess sebum

  • Pores: Helps unclog pores and smooths your skin

  • Acne: Antibacterial ingredients fight breakouts and soothe inflammation

🔬 How it works:

  • Green Clay: Absorbs oil, deeply cleanses, helps fight acne

  • Apple Cider Vinegar: Balances pH, firms skin, antibacterial

  • Aloe Vera (or Water): Soothes, hydrates, promotes healing

💸 Price:

You really pay for the branding sometimes.

  • Pre-made clay mask: ~200 CZK (≈ €8) for 100g

  • Pure green clay (DIY-ready): ~60 CZK (≈ €2.5) per 100g

📆 How long it lasts:

  • Store in the fridge, max 3 days if using vinegar + aloe.

  • Want longer shelf life? Add a few drops of vitamin E or grapefruit seed extract (3–5 drops per 50 ml).
→ Up to 14 days freshness! But always keep it cold

  • Tip: fresh is best 🌱💫

GG tip: The clay + water option is mixed just before use, that’s how the clay will practically last until it’s used. Just prepare the mixture in a different container so you don’t contaminate the clay. Keep the clay dry. For instance, I have a container of purchased clay, and when I want to use the mask, I simply measure out the amount I need (2 tablespoons) into a bowl, mix it with water, and that’s it!

🌱 Eco-friendly tip: Natural ingredients, no chemicals and less waste. Taking care of your skin and the planet at the same time? Two birds, one stone💚!

It’s easy, fast and super effective. Try it – your skin will glow ✨!
