Cosmetic Cookbook for Schools, Clubs and Home DIY
Give chemistry a fresh twist and make something you can actually use
Would you like to make chemistry lessons, an environmental club or a project day more engaging? Try making cosmetics with young people. It is not just a fun experiment. Everyone can take home a finished product they can actually use.
The GreenGate₂ Cosmetic Cookbook contains simple DIY recipes suitable for individuals, small groups and entire school classes. The amount of each ingredient is always given for one person, so you can easily adjust the recipe to the number of participants.
What recipes will you find inside?
You can make, for example:
- a two phase makeup remover
- a luxurious hydrating serum
- a smooth face cream
- a face mask and scrub
- a lip balm
- a hair oil serum
- a perfume
- a diffuser for the car or home and more
But the cookbook is not just a collection of recipes. You will also learn:
- how to use a water bath and measure pH correctly
- how to prepare solutions of hyaluronic acid, panthenol and other ingredients
- how to choose an oil according to skin type
- which scents work well together when mixing perfume
- how to prepare, use and store the products safely
The recipes can be used in chemistry lessons, environmentally focused subjects, after school clubs, workshops, project days and for home DIY activities. The cookbook includes both easier and more advanced recipes, so younger children can also make cosmetics under adult supervision.

Download the PDF, choose a recipe and start creating. Each recipe is arranged so that it can be printed separately and used straight away.
We recommend looking through the contents page or briefly browsing the whole publication first. You do not need to read everything immediately. For example, when making perfume, also check the fragrance combinations and safety recommendations. When making a cream or serum, the overview of oils for different skin types will be especially useful.
Who created the Cosmetic Cookbook?
Environmental education for companies, schools, and the public. We are enthusiasts, volunteers and, above all, people. We want to understand society and nature. Our surroundings are not indifferent to us. We move forward, create new things and we wish to be useful. We work towards a shared vision. Our core value is freedom of choice and the right to information for everyone.
That’s why we developed a mobile application and shared environments under the overarching GreenGate brand, which provides the user with enough relevant and, most importantly, independent information about product ingredients, their origin or the environmental impacts of the production, and much more. Such as links to other like-minded projects that consider people and nature.
We are all about products being safe for people to use, health and ecological sustainability of life on the planet. A change in the direction of our society is possible. We are GreenScan!
