A Problematic Skin? – Make Your Own Acne Treatment Cream

BY Ing. Žaneta Milošová (Havírová)

It’s a simple, quick, and most importantly, effective way to give your skin what it needs without stuffing it full of unnecessary chemicals. ✨ Plus, you get to customize the formula specifically for your skin. 💖 Say goodbye to expensive products that promise miracles 💸 and turn to DIY – your skin will thank you. 🙌🌱

🧪 Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons jojoba oil (or another light carrier oil, such as rosehip oil)
  • 5-10 drops of tea tree oil (tea tree essential oil)
  • 1 teaspoon of beeswax (helps create a light cream and adds stability)

📦 Containers:

  • A bowl to mix the ingredients
  • A small container or a jar with a lid for storage

✨ How to do it

  1. Melt the beeswax: Melt the beeswax in a water bath (in a small bowl in a water bath on the stove) until completely melted.
  2. Adding oils: Once the wax is melted, add the jojoba oil and mix well.
  3. Essential Oils: Allow the mixture to cool slightly and then add drops of tea tree oil. Stir well to combine the ingredients.
  4. Storage: Pour the mixture into a small container or a jar with a lid. Let it cool completely and solidify. Store the cream in a cool place away from direct sunlight. If stored properly, it can last up to 6 months.

 Usage:

  • Apply a small amount of the cream to the affected areas of the skin once or twice per day after cleansing the skin. You can also apply a very small amount to the entire face.

GG tip: If you are applying the cream on the entire face, always apply it to damp skin. Just take a little cream in the palm of your hand or on your finger and add a few drops of water or a toner. You can also apply the toner or water to your face then apply the cream immediately massage it in the skin. Sometimes it’s difficult to estimate the right amount, so start with a really small amount at first. If your skin is uncomfortably oily even after a few minutes, gently wipe off the excess and use less next time.

GG tip: For sensitive skin: if you’re worried about redness or irritation, try adding a few drops of lavender oil – its soothing effects will help to calm the skin. That being said, make the cream in a smaller quantity first, according to the recipe, to see how it works for you. If you’re not quite satisfied with it, you can adjust the formula next time – add more tea tree oil or less, depending on what works for you.

✨ Benefits:

  • Jojoba oil: It is similar to our skin’s natural oils, doesn’t clog pores and helps regulate oil production.
  • Tea tree oil: It is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and effective in treating acne.
  • Beeswax: Moisturizes and protects the skin from external influences.

This cream is practical, long-lasting, and its consistency makes it easy to apply. ✨🧴 Most importantly, it is free of unnecessary ingredients. 🚫🧪 In addition, all the ingredients listed can be used in other recipes (make-up remover, all-purpose cream, toothpaste…)
