Your Face Mask for Problematic and Oily Skin Is Here!

BY Ing. Žaneta Milošová (Havírová)

Do you have oily skin, clogged pores or struggle with acne? Then this mask is exactly for you! 🌿 Natural, effective and very simple to make. Plus, you can prepare it ahead of time and use it anytime. An inexpensive luxury that your skin will thank you for!

🧪 Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of green clay – absorbs oil and impurities.
  • 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar – antibacterial 🦠, balances pH ⚖️ and firms skin.
  • 1-2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel or water – moisturizes and soothes irritation 🌸.

GG tip: If you don’t have time for a more complicated mask, clay alone is quite sufficient! It’s not a big deal, but just mix it with a little water and you have a quick, effective and even cheaper option. You can try pink or blue clay – it’s fun and will make your skin look great. 🙌 I often do my mask in the bath so I don’t make a mess, but of course it depends on what works for you. It tightens the skin nicely as it dries, which is a great bonus.

If you like to enjoy a long bath 🛁, you can wash the clay straight into the water – that way it serves your skin all over too. Afterwards, all you need is a quick rinse with clean water. And while still wet, apply your favourite oil. I use apricot with hemp and a few drops of lavender oil, but everyone has their favourite products.

✨ You can add essential oils such as tea tree, lavender or rosemary, which also have great properties for oily skin.

      ✨ Instructions:

      • In a bowl, mix clay, apple cider vinegar and aloe vera gel or water until a smooth paste is formed.
      • Transfer the mixture into a clean container (a smaller glass jar of about 100 ml will do).
      • The mask is ready! Just stir it before use.

      🔧  How to use:

      • Apply a thin layer (about 1 mm) on cleansed skin (e.g. using a peeling), avoiding the area around the eyes and lips.
      • Leave on for 10-15 minutes until the mask dries.
      • Rinse with warm water and gently pat dry. Then use your favourite toner and moisturiser.

💚 Who the mask is for:

      • Oily skin: It will rid you of shine and excess sebum.
      • Pores: Helps with clogged pores and leaves a smooth skin.
      • Acne: Antibacterial ingredients fight breakouts and soothe inflammation.

      🔬 How it works:

      • Green Clay: Absorbs oil, cleanses skin and helps with acne.
      • Apple cider vinegar: Balances pH, firms skin and has antibacterial properties.
      • Aloe vera (or water): Soothes, moisturizes and helps with healing.

      💸 Price:

Well, as it happens, you pay for the brand. If you buy green clay as a mask, 100 g costs approximately about 8 euros. However, if you buy a pure green clay, which you can also use to make other beauty products, you’ll only pay about about 2.5 euros per 100g!

      📆 How long it lasts:

The mask with apple cider vinegar, clay and aloe vera gel is ideally stored in the fridge, where it will last a maximum of 3 days. If you want to extend its shelf life, you can add a few drops of vitamin E (shelf life extended to about 5 days) or grapefruit seed extract: 3-5 drops per 50 ml of mask, which can extend the freshness of the mask up to 14 days. Always store it in the refrigerator. Storing it for longer can be more difficult and the mask loses its freshness. That is why I recommend preparing the mask fresh🌱💫.

GG tip: The clay + water option is mixed just before use, that’s how the clay will practically last until it’s used. Just prepare the mixture in a different container so you don’t contaminate the clay. Keep the clay dry. For instance, I have a container of purchased clay, and when I want to use the mask, I simply measure out the amount I need (2 tablespoons) into a bowl, mix it with water, and that’s it!

🌱 Eco-friendly tip: Natural ingredients, no chemicals and less waste. Taking care of your skin and the planet at the same time? Two birds with one stone 💚!

It’s easy, fast and effective. Try it, your skin will glow !
